The Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) considers the MENA region as rapidly transitioning towards e-mobility, investors will have unique opportunities to capitalize on this emerging industry. The region’s abundant sunshine, extensive oil reserves, and rapid urbanization make it well-positioned for the growth in electric vehicles, e-bikes and e-scooters, and public transportation. The startups and incubators will also be playing a crucial role in driving the industry’s growth, developing innovative technologies, offering new business models, and providing funding and support to entrepreneurs.

“The MENA region’s transition towards e-mobility will present enormous opportunities for investors in sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation. We are excited to showcase some of the most innovative e-mobility startups from across the region and the globe at EVIS 2023. This event will bring together industry stakeholders to network and discuss the latest trends and technologies in e-mobility,” said Eng. Naser Al Bahri, EVIS Director.

“Investment opportunities in the MENA region’s e-mobility sector are vast, given the increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation. Countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Egypt are leading the way in promoting EVs through incentives, subsidies, and regulations. Investors can capitalize on this by investing in EV charging infrastructure, battery manufacturing, and EV production, e-bike and e-scooter sharing services, battery manufacturing, and charging infrastructure, and electric bus and train manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and related services.” He added.

Startups and incubators are driving the growth of the MENA region’s e-mobility sector by developing innovative technologies, offering new business models, and providing funding and support to entrepreneurs. These entities are bringing fresh ideas to the industry, which is helping to accelerate its growth. For example, startups like Elmangos are developing electric propulsion systems for boats, while incubators like Flat6Labs are incubating startups that are developing advanced battery technologies.

“In order to make a lasting impact on climate change, everyone must participate. And the best way to have more people actively working toward a zero-emission future is by offering more choices of electric vehicles.” Ali Eslami, CEO of AXL Electric Vehicles.
