EV Charging in Dubai: Under 30 Minutes with Parkin & e&

According to Gulf News, Dubai is taking a bold step toward sustainable mobility. Parkin, the emirate’s main parking operator, has signed a 10-year deal with charge&go, a subsidiary of global tech group e&, to install 200 ultra-fast EV charging stations across the city.

Transforming Dubai’s EV Ecosystem

The initiative launches in October 2025, marking a decisive shift for Dubai’s electric vehicle ecosystem. With over 40,000 EVs already on the road, the demand for fast and reliable charging is rising sharply.

Parkin’s new ultra-fast charging network will reduce charging times to under 30 minutes, compared to conventional AC systems that can take hours. This leap in technology supports both daily commuters and long-distance EV drivers, making electric mobility more practical and convenient.

Phased Rollout Across the City

The project will be delivered in stages:

  • Phase 1: Installation of 20 ultra-fast chargers at high-traffic spots, including neighborhoods, retail hubs, and leisure destinations.

  • Phase 2: Rapid expansion over the next year to reach 200 charging stations, ensuring coverage across both public and private spaces.

This phased approach will guarantee quick access to EV charging for Dubai residents and visitors.

Parkin’s Role in Urban Transformation

Parkin is leveraging its 212,000 paid parking spaces and proven infrastructure expertise to power this rollout. Its recent IPO on the Dubai Financial Market highlights the company’s growing role in urban transformation and smart mobility solutions.

By integrating charging into existing parking spaces, Parkin creates a seamless “park and charge” experience for EV drivers across Dubai.

Seamless ‘Park and Charge’ Experience

Technology partner charge&go, backed by global operator e&, will drive the innovation behind the service. With e& operating in 38 countries and reporting Dh59.2 billion in revenues in 2024, the project has the scale to succeed at a city-wide level.

Through Parkin’s mobile app, drivers will enjoy a digital-first charging experience, including:

  • Reserving charging bays in advance

  • Real-time charging status updates

  • Secure in-app payments

A strict “park and charge” rule will ensure bays are used only while charging. This prevents overstaying, improves turnover, and guarantees fair access for all EV drivers.

Driving Mass EV Adoption

Ultra-fast charging is a game-changer for mass EV adoption. It tackles one of the biggest barriers to ownership: range anxiety and long charging waits.

By cutting charging times and expanding access, Dubai is aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 strategy, reinforcing its leadership in clean mobility and sustainable transport.

EVIS & EMG: Platforms for Global Innovation

Bold mobility initiatives like this will be showcased at leading industry events, including the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS) and EcoMobility Global (EMG). Both events will be co-located in Abu Dhabi on October 13–14, 2026.

These platforms connect innovators, policymakers, and investors, highlighting projects like Parkin and e&’s ultra-fast charging rollout. Together, they accelerate the transition to cleaner, smarter cities while positioning the UAE as a global hub for sustainable mobility innovation.

Key Takeaway

Dubai’s partnership with Parkin and e& signals a new era for the EV charging ecosystem in the Middle East. With 200 ultra-fast charging stations coming online by 2025, the city is paving the way for faster adoption, better convenience, and a future aligned with global net-zero goals.
