Lucid Sets Guinness World Record for Longest EV Journey

According to Guinness World Records, the electric vehicle (EV) industry has reached another milestone. On July 8, 2025, Lucid Group, Inc. set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge. The Lucid Air Grand Touring traveled 1,205 kilometers (749 miles) without recharging. The record-setting drive began in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and ended in Munich, Germany. Along the way, the EV crossed alpine roads, highways, and rural routes—proving its performance and efficiency in real-world conditions.
Lucid Sets New GUINNES

A Historic Milestone for Electric Vehicles

This achievement marked a breakthrough for the EV industry and reinforced Lucid’s position as a global leader in innovation. Covering such an extraordinary distance without recharging highlights not only the strength of Lucid’s technology but also the growing practicality of long-distance electric mobility.

Lucid Air Grand Touring: Redefining Range and Efficiency

The Lucid Air Grand Touring has consistently set benchmarks for performance. In June 2025, it covered 1,045 kilometers on a single charge. Just one month later, it shattered its own record with a 1,205-kilometer journey.

Key specifications include:

  • WLTP-tested range: Up to 960 km

  • Energy consumption: Only 13.5 kWh/100 km

  • Top speed: 270 km/h

  • Charging capability: 400 km of range in 16 minutes

Eric Bach, Senior Vice President of Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid, explained the significance:

“This range record is a milestone and a clear demonstration of Lucid’s technological edge. Our vehicles combine efficiency with advanced drive units, ultra-high voltage architecture, and world-class battery management systems.”

Umit Sabanci’s Endurance Legacy

The world record was set in collaboration with Umit Sabanci, a London-based entrepreneur and endurance driver. Sabanci is no stranger to EV achievements. In 2024, he set a record for visiting nine countries on a single charge in a production EV.

“When I completed the nine-country journey in 2024, it felt like only the beginning,” Sabanci said. “This new record proves electric mobility isn’t just the future—it is already reshaping what’s possible today.”

The Future of Electric Mobility

Lucid’s latest Guinness World Record goes beyond distance. It symbolizes the rapid evolution of EV technology. With longer ranges, ultra-fast charging, and sustainable design, Lucid continues to push the boundaries of electric performance.

The achievement not only strengthens Lucid’s reputation but also inspires confidence in the future of electric mobility. EVs are no longer defined by limits—they are setting new standards for what modern transportation can achieve.
